![]() by Ethan Khuu Tran Let’s Roll Ice Cream is a dish that originated from Thailand. It is also called rolled ice cream, ice cream roll, and many more. Rolled ice cream is a milk dessert that is poured onto an ice grill. It creates a sheet of ice cream and it then rolled up and put into a cup where many can enjoy. This ice cream treat can be modified with many different sweet toppings ranging from oreos to glistening caramel. Many places sell this product and can commonly be found all around the bay area. The specific one I went to is Let’s Roll Ice Cream on Irving St., San Francisco. After I finished paying for my product, the guy doing my “matcha-cha” ice cream roll was done I quickly went to the toppings counter. Like most ice cream roll places, you only need to pay for the ice cream. All the toppings are free! I quickly told her what I wanted, strawberry pocky sticks, mochi, coconut shavings, and to top it all up, I chose Nutella. The cashier fluidly put the ingredients and oozed the liquid Nutella out of the the bottle, I have never seen Nutella flow so graciously. I quickly sat down on the bench and devoured my sugary concoction. Bite by bite, I finished my ice cream treat, leaving my stomach full and fulfilled. My mom who also ate the ice cream said, “It is good, but it’s too sweet for me.” There are many healthy options if you don’t prefer having too much sugar. 3x berry which is a vanilla ice cream roll chopped with strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries, provides the person a healthy ice cream roll of fruity goodness. Overall, the experience was great. The cashier greeted me the moment I walked in and the guy who made my ice cream made a show out of it flipping his two spatulas. You can tell that the stores is very lively the moment you walk in. I would definitely come back the next time I come to San Francisco. Comments are closed.
