![]() By: Ethan Khuu-Tran Upon thinking about the best three burgers, I didn’t really know. I had a poll among my peers. They voted In-N-Out, Five Guys, and The Habit. I was sent out on a mission to try out the three burger joints. I also brought along my buddy Julian, who also could give a second opinion on the burgers. Together we would critic and compare ideas together. I decided to hit all three places in one day for the sake of convenience. First off, we went to In-N-Out. We both got a double double (burger with two patties) with animal style fries. I forgot to take pictures because I just ate it all without thinking. While we were discussing about the other two locations, we said how In-N-Out is just nostalgic. At around $10 per person, you can’t complain about the food. Honestly you can’t really hate on In-N-Out, it’s just In-N-Out. It’s quite above average for a burger at its price point. My favorite part about the place was the fries. To be more specific, the animal style fries (fries topped with cheese and grilled onions). I always liked In-N-Out but a few years back when I found out about the animal style fries, I fell in love with it. In-N-Out will always have a place in my heart. The next burger that we had was from Five Guys. For Five Guys, we wanted to split it so we wouldn’t be full by the time we got to the third burger place. We got a bacon cheeseburger with lettuce, grilled onions, and jalapenos. In total our meal of 2 drinks, a small cajun style fries, and a bacon cheeseburger was $17. This meal was a little more pricey compared to In-N-Out’s. However, you do get more meat with your burger compared to In-N-Out’s small delicious patty and unlimited toppings for your burgers which is a plus for someone who usually eats everything. The Cajun style fries are different from the fries from In-N-Out. The thing I like about both these burger places is that they use fresh ingredients. Both of their fries are freshly made. The Cajun style fries are a bit larger and thicker. They also are really salty so you might want to ask them to lay low on the salt. They have a slightly sweet and savory taste that comes with every bite. For people who have food allergies, I recommend you to be careful because when you walk in, there is an open bin of peanuts laying around for people to snack on as they wait for their order. The burger was humongous.. The taste of meat was almost overwhelming. There was a noticable difference between the two burger places. In-N-Out is good overall, while the Five Guys burger is trying to stuff meat into your stomach. Like I said earlier, the burger was a little too overwhelming in the meat aspect, but definitely good! . The Habit was the last place I visited. I was already full so I wasn’t expecting anything good from the place. My friend ordered for the both of us, 2 double char burgers (double patty), one side of onion rings, and one side of fried peas. Surprisingly the total was also around $17 which was highly affordable. We basically paid just as much as Five Guys and got more for the both of us. It was my first time there and I was very satisfied with the experience. The best that I can describe this place is that it’s in between In-N-Out and Five Guys. The price point is between the two restaurants, leaning a little bit to Five Guys. The taste is meaty like Five Guys but it still holds the special taste like In-N-Out. There is one thing that sets, The Habit apart from the other two places has that home feeling. When I first ate the burger, it reminded me of the late night barbeques at my uncle’s in the summer. Overall, I would recommend all three of these places. I would rate the burger places with my experience dining there: In-N-Out, The Habit, Five Guys. I certainly will come back to these places. With my bloated stomach, I still don’t regret going to all three places in one day. Comments are closed.
