Spirit week is a tradition every school takes place in to show their school spirit. Different schools have different events going on. Even though KIPP is a small school, we still like to show our spirit. On Tuesday, students participated in pride day. Students got to wear rainbow colors to show their support on LGBT. On Wednesday, students participated in jock vs geek day. Students could either dress as a nerd or wear their favorite team jersey. On Thursday, is was twin day. Students got to dress the same as their friends. To finish up the week, Friday was grade color. Freshman wore white, sophomores wore black, juniors wore blue, and seniors wore red. We ended the day with a school rally. Students organized activities were we got to compete for points for a free dress pass on Wednesday. Also, in the rally, school athletes got recognized. Others school share common themes and also have a rally although their school is bigger and their rallies are obviously bigger. Students enjoy spirit week because it only comes once in awhile. A student from Kipp San Jose Collegiate, Katia Gonzalez, said that our school rally is different from her old school because she went to Mitty, a much bigger school than KIPP, but her overall experience was okay. -Andrea Navarro
