![]() By: Eduardo Yanez With soccer season coming to an end, an update is in need. The boys started off rough but it seems now that they have managed to gain a four-game winning streak. The girls seem to be doing fine as they have just beat their local rivals once again for the second time this season. The boys are appearing to be making somewhat of a comeback as they defeat the team currently in first place. The boys turned the season around after they took their fourth defeat against Cristo Rey High School. Since then the boys have defeated Summit Shasta for the second time, first place holder Summit Prep, their local rivals DCP Alum Rock, and last but not least LCPA. The girls seemed to take a turn for the worst up until last week when the girls defeated their local rivals for the second time. The boys seem to have flipped the script as they are now on a four-game winning streak. Their next matchup is against first place team Summit Prep who are looking for revenge after losing to KIPP on the first match. The KIPP boys are looking to defeat Summit once more and take a spot among the top three schools on the leaderboard. One of the captains from the KIPP boys varsity team said, “ Summit is our last hard game. After winning this game the rest of the league will be a smooth cruise. I’m proud of the boys because they all have learned so much and we have really turned things around in the league.” The boys seem optimistic about the league despite having a rough start. The girls seemed to have a downfall after losing two games in a row, but that all changed last week. The KIPP girls varsity soccer team faced their local rivals, DCP Alum Rock, for the second time and they came out victorious. The KIPP girls were triumphant after winning by a score of three to zero. The KIPP girls varsity soccer team captain had this to say, “This is what the girls needed. We needed to win to get our motivation and now we will use this as momentum to hopefully defeat the rest of the teams left in the season.” The girls seem motivated to end off the season strong as they prepare for their next match against Cristo Rey. The season may be coming to an end, but both the boys and the girls seemed determined to end off the season with a bang. The Wolfpack may have had a rough start, but now it’s their turn to leave their mark on the league. How will the boys and girls finish the season? Stay tuned to find out.
