Dragon Ball Super: Broly takes place as part of the Dragon Ball franchise. The Dragon Ball franchise has 4 shows under it’s belt. The original Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball Super, and a non-canon series Dragon Ball GT. The main character of Dragon Ball is Son Goku. The movie starts off with an origin story of the Saiyan’s homeworld, Planet Vegeta. It shows Planet Vegeta getting destroyed by Frieza. There were only 4 Saiyan survivors, Goku, Vegeta, Broly, and Paragus. It then skips to 41 years later where Goku and Vegeta found a home on Earth where they have grown and developed their power. Broly and Paragus were both exiled to a distant planet before their homeworld was destroyed and have been living there ever since. Through those 41 years, Lord Frieza developed a rivalry with Goku and Vegeta. Frieza finds Broly and Paragus living on planet Vampa. Paragus says he wants revenge on King Vegeta for exiling them. Frieza tells him that King Vegeta is dead but his son resides on Earth. Goku and Vegeta find out that Frieza was on Earth so they rushed to his location. When Goku and Vegeta arrive, Paragus immediately tells Broly to attack. Throughout the battle, Broly’s father Paragus dies and Broly begins to lose control of his power.
