By Michelle Perez Seth Rogen (Isaac), Anthony Mackie (Chris), and Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Ethan) star in a new christmas classic about 3 friends who had a tradition for 10 years of going out on Christmas Eve for a wild night that consists of karaoke, dancing, drinking, and smoking. The tradition started after Ethan's parents had past away in a terrible car crash; Isaac and Chris offered Ethan release and distraction every Christmas Eve to cheer Ethan up. For ten years, they have tried desperately to find tickets to the biggest party in New York City, The Nutcracker Ball. The only way to get in is by receiving one of the shiny red tickets that contains a number that will call you the day of to release the address of the party. Luckily, Ethan came across some tickets while he was working and didn't hesitate to bring the tickets home to his pals. While their little tradition was what they looked forward to every holiday season, it was coming to an end. Isaac is a newly wed and was about to become a father for the first time (which he was completely nervous about). Chris had finally made it to the big leagues and was playing on a NFL football team. Sadly, Ethan had yet to find his purpose and had recently gotten out of a relationship with the love of his life because of his fear to meet her parents. Since it was the last day of their tradition, they planned to go all out to make it the best night of their lives. Before heading to The Nutcracker Ball, the boys hit all of their traditional spots, and tried out various drug (provided by Isaac’s wife, of course). Since Ethan was the only one who didn’t was the tradition to end, he wanted this night to be perfect and wanted them all to stay together. However, at one point in the movie, they had all encountered their own problems and went their own ways, which led to an argument amongst them. Although, as all friends do, they came back together at the ball when they had to stand up for each other while fighting off enemies. Overall, this movie was full of laughs and by far, one of my favorite comedies. It included all the key components of all good movies, such as comedy, action, and romance. I would highly recommend you guys to watch this movie, but of course since it is rated R you may need your parents or an adult to take you. Although it may not be completely appropriate, it sure brought laughs to me and my family!
