Last week was one of the biggest sporting event of all time the Super Bowl. Especially, Due to the current state of the world, it was necessary that the world can for once can forget about what is going on and just have a fun time. Forget about politics and especially Donald Trump and just enjoy yourself by watching a football game whether or not you enjoy football ball. The AFC Champions, the New England Patriots took on the NFC Champions, the Atlanta Falcons. Despite Tom Brady being suspended for the first four games due to the Deflategate Scandal and losing their star tight end Rob Gronkowski due to a season-ending injury, the Patriots manage to qualify for the playoffs and make it to the SuperBowl. The Patriots finished out the season with a 12-4 record being first in the AFC division. The Patriots defeated the Houston Texans in the 2nd round of the playoffs to advance to the AFC championship game to face of the Pittsburgh Steelers. The win over the Steelers, The Patriots were able to punch their ticket to Houston and be heading to Superbowl 51. However, For the Falcons during the season were considered the “underdogs” they managed to finish off the season with a 11-5 record. One player that shined during the season for the Falcons was quarterback Matt Ryan. Falcons knew that it was up to Matt Ryan to lead the team far in the playoffs and punch their ticket to Super Bowl 51. One word to describe the Falcons during their playoff run was “upset”. They knew that they were the underdog role due to the teams that they were facing and despite their role they manage to defeat their opponents the Seahawks and the Packers in huge upsets. Thus, Lead to the reason why the Patriots and Falcons made the Super Bowl. Now on to the game, The beginning of the game seemed a bit to boring as the Falcon’s offense was on a role putting up points on the scoreboard against the Patriots. The Falcon’s defense was also able to capitalize on the Patriot’s struggling offense as one point in the game Tom Brady threw an interception to Falcons cornerback Robert Alford, which resulted in a touchdown causing the Falcons to have a 21-0 lead the 2nd quarter against the Patriots. Question arose as if this game is already over since the Patriot’s offense and defense could catch a break at all of the Falcon’s offense and defense. Even though,The Patriots didn’t score a touchdown in the 2nd quarter of the Super Bowl, they still manage to get something on the scoreboard a Patriots kicker, Stephen Gostkowski kicked a field goal to give the Patriots something on the scoreboard and at the end of the 2nd quarter the Falcons were leading with a score of 21-3 heading with the lead at halftime. The Patriots knew for a fact that they had to turn around their offense and defense if they wanted a orchestrate a comeback in the Super Bowl. During the 3rd quarter the Patriots demonstrated through the effort that the offense and defense were giving, they weren’t going to be defeated that easy without putting up a fight. Tom Brady was able to capitalize with his offense more in the 3rd quarter by throwing the ball to his WR’s. By the amount of yards that the Patriot’s offense were able to gain during the 3rd quarter just trying to cut to the lead. Patriots put up 6 points on the score board due to a touchdown from James White, but Patriot’s kicker missed the extra point. The Falcon’s defense just seemed all ready to tired and worn out to keep up with the Patriots during the 3rd quarter. However, despite the Falcons tiring defense, the Falcon’s offense managed to put up 7 points due to the touchdown from Trevor Coleman. Falcons had the lead at 28-9 coming into the 4th quarter and seemed that they were couple minutes away from winning the Super Bowl. However, In in sports the game isn’t over until it's over. The Patriots knew that it would would take a miracle to comeback in this game. Patriots offense clicking on all cylinders putting points on the scoreboard cutting down the lead by the Falcons. The Falcon’s offense seemed to disappear in the 4th quarter as they weren’t able to keep up with the up tempo Patriot’s defense during the 4th quarter. In the final minutes of the 4th quarter the Patriots tied the game up with the touchdown by James White and the 2pt conversion from Julian Edelman. And just like that, the Patriots erased a 19 point lead from the Atlanta Falcons. The game ended up going into overtime, which was the first time in the history of the Super Bowl. The Patriots offense during overtime gained 75 yards in about 3 minutes. The winning play of the game, Tom Brady gives the ball to James White and White rushes for 2 yards and gets in the endzone for a touching. The Patriots won the game 34-28 and thus the comeback was complete Tom Brady wins his 5th Super Bowl championship most by any player in history.
